How to plan a multi-day adventure
Everything you need to know, from choosing a route to packing your bag
This post was going to be the third part in my solo adventures series. I’ve already written about why I love solo adventures and tips for staying safe on them. In this final instalment I wanted to give you a comprehensive guide on how to plan one: where to go, what to take, how not to get lost, etc. But when I started writing, I realised I’d covered most of the solo-specific stuff in the safety piece. Everything else seems largely the same regardless of whether you’re going it alone or with somebody else, so consider this a more general guide instead.
Ticking off a new long-distance trail is my favourite kind of holiday. You can make it as easy or as hard as you like and do it your own way. No pressure to cover mega distances or sleep under the stars if you don’t want to, it’s all about just making it from A to B and eating a lot of snacks along the way. If you fancy trying a multi-day adventure but aren’t sure where to start re: planning one, then keep reading!
