Life after a big adventure
Why I didn't want to do another one and creating a career in adventure
By far, the question I’ve been asked most often since finishing my run around the coast of Britain is: what’s next?
I guess it’s a valid question now, seven years on, when I’m still dining out on that one trip, have no current plans to do another big adventure and am firmly in one-hit wonder territory (as my mum kindly said once). But it was a confusing one to try and answer right after finishing what will probably forever be my biggest achievement. I had no idea what was next as I sat in my parents’ spare room with a completely empty bank account but really enjoying wearing clean socks every day. I just knew that I didn’t want to go on another 10-month long run anytime soon.
When I asked what you wanted to read about earlier this week, one suggestion was a piece bridging the gap between where Coasting ends and now. I can understand why the timeline might be a bit confusing so I thought this was a good idea (even if writing it does feel a bit self indulgent).
So here we go! I’m not known…
