Hello and happy new year. I’m writing this from a kitchen table in a remarkably sunny North Wales, where I’ve been staying for the past few days. My plans for January have changed about twenty times but in the end I found myself with an empty week before I had any commitments that require being in a specific place, which I figured I may as well make the most of. I filtered on Airbnb by a low price and a high rating and zoomed out so my search covered the entire country. My criteria were: cheap, not horrible, close to nice places to get outside, reasonable wifi. I ended up finding this little cottage near the sea, just on the edge of the Eyri National Park, for £200 for the whole week. I suppose not many people want to go away in January.
